Love Around the World with Jessica Jayne

Welcome to Love Around the World with Evernight Authors! Today's featured author is Jessica Jayne in the state of sunny Florida. Take us away, Jessica!

Growing up in northeastern Ohio, especially during the month of February, I dreamt of living near a beach, listening to the waves crashing to shore with my toes buried in the sand. Single digit temperatures and twelve inches of snow had weiged on me. I decided to do something about it. After graduating from college, I hightailed it to Florida, deciding that such a life no longer had to be just a dream. I have been enjoying the Life is a Beach motto… literally…ever since.

Some people think Florida is just a retirement state. Yes, we do get a lot of snowbirds. Some of them make for interesting fodder at the beach and a lot of cussing while driving. And we do look forward to April when they all start traveling back north so traffic can get back to normal.

But Florida offers many things. If you want a fast-paced, culturally diverse city, visit Miami. If you want a laid-back, margarita-filled experience, travel to Key West. If you want history and old-Florida charm, stop by St. Augustine. If you want to see the incredible rat (aka Mickey Mouse), holiday in Orlando. But if you want to lounge on some of the best beaches in the US, you need to visit me. ;)
Living on the west coast of Florida (just south of the Tampa Bay area), I’ve surrounded myself with some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Three of which have been ranked #1 as the best beach in the US: Siesta Key (Sarasota); Ft. DeSoto Beach (St. Petersburg) and Caladesi Island (near Clearwater). Think on that for a minute. These beaches are in competition with those in California and Hawaii and yet have beat them out of the #1 position more than once.

My family, friends and I make it a priority to visit the beach as often as possible. There is something about a beautiful sunset that puts everything into perspective. Or the crash of the waves on the shore that brings a sense of peace and calming of your soul. And the romance… nothing says romantic like a barefoot walk through the sand, hand-in-hand with your lover. But one of our most favorite activities is the Siesta Key Drum Circle every Sunday just before sunset.

Every week this event draws a crowd. New drummers beat their drums in the circle. Belly dancers and hula hoopers abound. Children rave with glow-in-the-dark necklaces. A bottle of wine, a picnic of crackers and cheese, a couple of beach chairs pointed toward the sun and the rhythmic beat of the drums can make even the most trying day seem like a walk on the beach. And I have the chance to do this every Sunday of the year. Life really is good!

Jessica is the author of the Taking Advantage series. Titles including Board Approved and Board Stiff!

John Dorsey’s life is good.  He is the owner of Dorsey Construction.  He’s the youngest person on the board of directors for Advantage Insurance Company.  He lives on the beach.  And he knows he can have any woman he wants.  John’s got the world at his fingertips… except he’s yet to find a woman that stimulates both his body and mind.

Elizabeth Wright worked hard in a large Tampa law firm making a name for herself, but it came at the expense of her personal life. When Advantage Insurance Company offers her a job as corporate counsel, Elizabeth cannot turn it down.  The thought that she can have a successful legal career and a life excites and intimidates her.

But when their worlds collide one day in the Advantage board room, neither Elizabeth nor John knows what’s hit them.  All they know is they can’t stay away from each other.

Hi Jessica! What a beautiful picture of the sunset! I'm a beach girl too, coming from San Diego, so I understand your love for the water and sand. It was very cool getting to learn a little more about the lady with the pretty smile! xoxo
